| Expertise Summary |
| Soil ecology investigating the interactions between mycrobiota (saprotrophic and mycorrhizal fungi) in organic matter decomposition, nutrient mineralization and uptake by plants. Specific expertise in forestry and the interactions of these processes and organisms with pollution and management. The overall objective is to understand the ecophysiology and mycorrhizas in relation to soil biotic diversity the effects on and of interacting root organisms (particularly bacteria and fauna) on nutrient cycling. Conservation and preservation of soil as a resource and sustainable management practices in the face of anthropogenic impacts on the system are a major area. |
